There's apparently a serious bug in the new update which messes with your ability to access the daily assignments or event tasks, or gives you a continual restart error.

(I updated the assets and can no longer collect the daily (unclear if that's on my end or server side, the communication is spotty. But! If you update the app as well, then you get the restart error.)

Niantic are... aware and are advising users not to download the update, just not anywhere people are likely to look for the information, because that would be boring.

Anywhoodles, I'll let you know when they come up with a patch. 😘

They also didn't bother to mention the "don't update" bit on their own website, which is where I go to check for info about things like that. 😐 Instead her last messages there she was still telling people to be patient, the rollout hadn't finished, and so more people got into deeper trouble. During an event, as you said. I mean, their developers are dodgy, their Q&A department, however, is truly abysmal (or perhaps non-existent), and the present round of community management is simply... odd. Pfft.

I’m in the same boat as you. Cannot collect Daily Task rewards because the page is blank, although it does obligingly tell me when I finish one I can’t collect. I’m done with it for today. I’ll see if it’s fixed tomorrow along with the scarcity of the Brilliant foundables. Until then it’s just annoying and unplayable.

Yeah, I tried a couple of TFTDs and made next to no progress. I can adapt to the wrong colour flares (it was stupid, but alright), but no traces when it's a requirement for a task? Just a waste of time and resources. The next ones were only going to get worse, because you'll almost definitely need them there as well, and they're usually the rarer traces to boot.
