Game devs have made new updates that don’t require a visit to the App Store. Per Community Manager Fazes:

'We have fixed the issue buttons on the Map not working on certain player profiles. All players should now be able to tap on buttons when on the Map.

In addition, we have updated the game with the following:

Wizarding Challenges:
We are turning back on our new updated lobby countdown timer! If you join a Chamber with other players, you can now tap Ready to let your teammates know you are ready to join the fight! Likewise, you will now see when other players are ready to start the Challenge. As a solo player, you can now skip pass the start timer by tapping Start and being dropped straight into the Chamber! [EDIT: nope. 😐 They turned it off again. It just doesn't seem to want to work properly. Or they're just massive teases. Whichever.]

Registry:
Check out the new Registry page, Room of Requirement V, in the Legends of Hogwarts Family. This page includes the following new Foundables: Fred Weasley (Encounter), George Weasley (Encounter), Parvati Patil (Encounter), Angelina Johnson (Encounter), and Dumbledore’s Army Sign-up Sheet (Wizarding Challenge Reward). [Make sure to download your assets; there's still no red dot.]

General:
Dark Detectors will now give increase the amount of higher-level (High, Severe, and Emergency) Traces you see when you place a Dark Detector at an Inn! [Just in time for the Event requiring us to use them! w00t! 😃]

Greenhouses:
We have added back in Snowdrop and Bitterroot as potential rewards when you pull Ingredients from Greenhouses!'

Unannounced: the amount you get of an ingredient, which has been consistent since the game was released, has now also changed.

While the amount definitely isn't irrelevant, the chance of getting an ingredient obviously matters more. So while two Leaping Toadstools is double the single Sopophorous Bean, you're likely to get twenty beans for each time you pull some toadstools. Still. Toadstools! 🍄

And 'Yay' for the increase of Bitterroot. I'm not sure about the decrease of Scurvygrass, but lately I've found a lot of it in the wild. (Bet it's to do with rain... lol)

Saw two of them (one fled) and was all, who the foo is Bludger girl?? because she isn't a 9 3/4 despite the Gryffindor robes... Caught on once I returned one and you can see the details in the registry. (Which is quite logically what happens when you click through the starting screens too quickly to read them... heh) Man I need all the help I can get on the LoH pages, so more are welcome.

good! I was going slightly crazy there with greenhouses, only finding ginger root. And more ginger root. And not seeing a single bitterroot spawn as ingredient either since the last Brilliant Event, I think it was.

BTW they've added more inns and tweaked some inn colours it seems. I now have one available from the living room, yay.

Yeah, they nerfed a bunch of inns around here. I can't say I disagree with the decision, they were rather close by another

well it's very handy for those Dark Detectors! Haven't used them earlier, it feels a bit too much to hang out with the tween boys by an inn for half an hour.

I can see where that would make a real difference. There aren't really any tweens here for me to not want to sit with at the inns, that's how unattractive the locations are, or at least in this weather. Even the one location that had the occasional homeless person no longer has them, just one silly ginger, (damply) playing despite the drizzle. Today I just placed two dark detectors to complete the last challenge and went home. Couldn't see the sense in staying out there any longer, extra spawns be hanged. Made it in the nick of time.
