Brilliant Event: Circus Calamitous Part 2...

IS TAKING PLACE! Make of that what you will, but first and foremost: stay safe.

So! Part 2 of the Circus Calamitous Brilliant Event starts Tuesday, 24 March at 11am PST and runs through 31 March. They've done a pretty good job of paring back Task requirements to make them reasonably playable in light of the Coronavirus and the advisability of Social Distancing. Here's your sneak peek to help you prepare for the tasks. (And as always, if this is too spoilery for you, just give it a pass.)

VIRUS RELATED CONSIDERATIONS:
For Task 2, you'll need to Dine at Inns three times.
For a growing number of people, that's going to present a problem. Here in Germany, even if people are required to stay indoors (note: *not* quarantined; that's an entirely different matter), they are permitted to make a run to the shops, walk the dog or go to the doctors. As it's only 'dining', presumably most people should be able to squeeze that assignment in somehow. But whatever you do, please be smart about this. This is just a game. (Heresy! ๐Ÿ˜ Yes. *nods*) Obey your local authorities, and please take the virus seriously. Even if it doesn't hurt you, you could become a carrier and hurt someone else. That's not the kind of weight anyone should carry.

Task 2 also requires us to Brew THREE Exstimulo Potions (apparently any of the Exstimulos will do). Normally you can get a jump on that kind of assignment by brewing in advance and waiting to pick the potions up until you reach that step, but we're required to use Master Notes once in Task 1. So either you'll need to spring for the rental cauldron for that step, or accept the time delay to brew the other potions. (Absolute best timing on that with only the regular cauldron, assuming optimisation of the first potion with Master Notes and Regular Exstimulos, is still four hours.)

If you wait until the other assignments in Task 2 are completed to take your Tonic for Trace Detection, it will help you reach the 750 WXP assignment in Task 3, just be sure pick up the rewards for Task 2 so the next set of assignments loads or it won't count. (There speaks the voice of experience... ๐Ÿ˜†) Even at 50 WXP per Foundable, which is about the worst you can do, you should have 750 WXP together in no more than fifteen successfully returned encounters. TFTD currently gives you 30 spawns, so as long as you have spell energy, you should be alright. If you are having difficulty getting energy, start saving up now. (Or be prepared to pay for it.)

Once you pick up your freebies, you'll still need two TFTD, ingredients for three Exstimulos (of any kind) and at least one Exstimulo (again of any kind) to complete the assignments for this event. If you include the Bonus Assignments, you'll need a total of six TFTD. Brew accordingly.

Rewards include 15 green Restricted Section Books, 2 red Spell Books, 1 silver key, 50 gold, a Unicorn Hair, one powdered Dragon Claw and two Toadstools.

Here is where you can find the Brilliant Foundables on the Event Registry page:

Brilliant Portkeys for this event have been reduced to 1.5km! As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you part 1 rewards anytime you open them, so you need to pick up the Portkeys you'll need for the registry fragments during this half of the event. The good news is you don't have to unlock them now, as long as they are in your inventory, you can buy yourself some time.

Once again, there's a Bonus Assignment after the main tasks are completed. Make sure to look for these in-game. They've made a key change, however: if you complete certain bonus assignments, you will receive the three Fortress Candy Floss Stand Fragments you need for your registries. This means you don't have to leave home to go to a Fortress. (I think I'd have preferred if they had replaced the Portkey requirement instead, as we can win the Fortress fragments after the events, but still, this is pretty darn cool.)

Rewards include 3 red Spell Books, 1 Baruffio's, 3 Fortress Candy Floss Stand Foundables, and 1 Newt Scamander encounter. It might be wise to have a Dawdle Draught on hand for that one because you aren't guaranteed to return him.

As usual, there will be freebies and bundles.

PSA: I noticed this evening when using TFTD that they seem to have massively nerfed the length of the spawn times for the TFTD spawns. So while we are now seeing three times the spawns (30), they also only exist on the map for a third of the time, or five minutes. If you're prone to optimising your Baruffio's usage like I am, that just got royally buggered.

Here's hoping this helps you get ready for the event. And if you do nothing else, donโ€™t forget to pick up your free TFTD, Dark Detector, and 25 Spell Energy. And don't forget to download your assets!

Stay safe and stay well. โค๏ธ

I'll stay in my car lol

This is doable for me! I can do drive by dining. Thereโ€™s one place I can park and get three inns together without leaving the car. Iโ€™m glad they gave us a non fortress option as that is trickier for me. Thanks for the tip on the order for the tasks in part 2!

Again, thank you for the information. I think it's quite doable, and thank them for doing it so. The only problem for me will be the portkeys, I didn't leave any vacant slots for them as I should probably have. So I'll try to do that while shopping.
And this makes me glad that I have an inn (and sometimes two) accessible from home, so I can play a lot staying at home. Fortresses and portkeys are trickier, though.

To and from grocery runs?

We're not close ... Yet. There's 2 cases in the county we technically live in, but we do most of our business in the county next door, and I think we both topped up enough today to be good for several weeks. I think I just need some flour at this point.
