Brilliant Event: Darkest of Times Part 2

Part 2 of the Darkest of Times Brilliant Event starts Tuesday, February 4th at 11am PST.

HIGHLIGHTS
For this event, you'll need to have ten eleven potions (one of which is a Baruffio's, and two of which should ideally be ready to pick up in your queue) and two Dark Detectors, and to unlock either five or fifteen Portkeys (the latter if you're completing the Bonus Assignments), so time to go the distance, or a whole bunch of silver keys.

Task 1 / Rewards
ERROR: you're required to use 3 potions.
Return Brilliant Pensieve 5 Times - 3 Restricted Section Books
Brew 2 Potions - 25 Brilliant Family XP - Brew your potions in advance to get a jump on this step. It's most efficient to have a quick potion second, because you won't be able to perform Master Notes on it, or use the rental cauldron.

1 Key - (OrangeWizard tends to have excellent information, so it looks like it's just the one in this step. WORTH NOTING: that means as freebies / rewards, in this half of the event, we'll only be given TWO KEYS IN TOTAL. When you reach the Bonus Assignments, it'll become clear why that is a problem. Now if you collect your daily rewards, you'll have picked up three keys recently, but still. Ouch. Plan accordingly.)


Task 2 / Rewards
Unlock 5 Portkey Portmanteaus - 15 Brilliant Family XP
ADVENTURE SYNC GOES LIVE TODAY. That should help with this task. Remember you need to unlock the portmanteaus during this step, so if you try to work ahead, make sure you time it right (or turn off Adventure Sync if it gets too close).

Unlock 10 Portkey Portmanteaus - 3 Spell Books

Nice changes: they've decoupled the three spell books reward from completing the entire bonus assignment and they haven't restricted which of the Brilliant Foundables we need to return. (So no more fruitless hunting for Albus...)

Brilliant Portkeys will again be 3km and reward only Wizarding XP. (And probably no better than the last time. 😕 CORRECTION: Fazes says they've boosted them a bit. We'll just have to wait and see what that means.) As a reminder, Part 1 Portkeys will give you Part 1 rewards anytime you open them, even if you wait to open them during Part 2, so you need to pick up the ones you need for your registry fragments during this event.

Part 1 Brilliant Encounters will still be popping up on the Map during Part 2 in case you need more Fawkeses or Albuses for you registries.
